Problems Related to Lock Jaw

Lock Jaw (AKA trismus) It limits the opening of the mouth. This can be caused by an imbalance in the muscles of the face or underdevelopment of the jaws. 

Some early signs of Lockjaw are headaches and muscle spasms. As the condition gets serious, you might come across some other signs, such as difficulty swallowing or breathing and neck pain.

How We Treat Lockjaw

The severity of your condition determines Lock Jaw treatment. Rebecka treats Lock Jaw by the application of heat and ice as well as rhythmic massage movements intraorally to stretch and relax the facial muscles to support the Jaw Joint. Depending on the severity she may refer you to a TMJ specialist to look at other underlying conditions to prevent further locking of the jaw joint in the future
