WHAT WE DO
We Combine Treatments To Get You Back On Track
Myofunctional Therapy (aka Orofacial Myology):
Exercise based and specifically designed to find where your pain and dysfunction is coming from and then correct it at the source. While most chronic pain treatment methods only address symptoms to deaden or mask pain, Myofunctional Therapy corrects the issues that are at the root of your ongoing discomfort.
Myofunctional Therapists see clients on a weekly to bi-weekly basis and it takes anywhere from 6 months to 1 year to complete. (That is a long time to get out of pain!)
Medical Massage Therapy:
Manual manipulation of the soft tissues in the body. It promotes muscle relaxation by targeting the source of the body's pain. We eliminate tense muscles, increase flexibility, and provide functional movement patterns to the affected muscles of the face and neck.
Medical massage therapists recommend seeing clients 2-3 times the first week, 2-3 times the second week and then 1-2 times the third week. (That's a lots of time in a short period) While this gets the client out of pain it does not give the client the tools that they need at home to maintain or possibly eliminate the pain.
This keeps the client coming back for continuous treatment year after year.
